faq's

1. Why should I invest in a smoke alarm now?

Fires can happen at any time, and the lack of warning can be fatal. A working smoke alarm can reduce your risk of dying in a fire by up to 50%. For a modest investment, you're protecting your loved ones and property from catastrophic loss.

2. What makes this smoke alarm different from a standard smoke alarm?

This smoke alarm features wireless interconnection, meaning when one alarm detects smoke, all interconnected alarms will sound simultaneously. This ensures you're alerted regardless of where you are in the house—ideal for multi-level or larger homes.

3. Is the smoke alarm certified?

Yes. This alarm is certified to meet European safety standards , ensuring high-quality,
reliable fire detection performance.

4. How does wireless interconnection improve safety?

With wireless interconnection, if a fire starts in one room, every connected alarm in your home will activate. This gives you and your family more time to respond—especially important at night or when the source of the fire is far from where you're located.

5. Do I need an electrician to install it?

Not at all. This alarm is battery-operated and designed for easy self-installation. It
comes with clear, step-by-step instructions so you can set it up quickly without professional help.

6. How long do the batteries last?

The smoke alarm is equipped with ten year long-life batteries.

7. How loud is the alarm?

The unit emits an 85 dB alarm, which is loud enough to alert you even in noisy
environments or while sleeping.

8. Can I silence the alarm if it goes off accidentally?

Yes. The alarm includes a test and silence function, allowing you to:

  • Test the alarm’s functionality regularly
  • Silence it temporarily in case of false alarms (e.g., from cooking smoke)
9. Where should I install these alarms?

Install smoke alarms:

  • In every bedroom
  • Outside sleeping areas
  • On each level of your home (including the basement)
  • In hallways or near stairwells

For wireless interconnection, ensure that the alarms are within range of one another for reliable communication.

10. How many alarms can be interconnected wirelessly?

Most systems allow you to interconnect up to 20 units, but please refer to the included user manual for the specific model’s capacity.

11. Is this alarm suitable for South African homes?

Yes. This alarm is perfect for South African homes, especially given the increased fire
risks during power outages or in homes using gas or open flames. It provides an essential layer of protection for urban, rural, and multi-storey properties.

12. Do I need Wi-Fi or an app for wireless interconnection?

No. The wireless interconnection uses a dedicated radio frequency, not your home Wi-Fi, so there’s no need for an internet connection or app.

13. How often should I test the alarm?

We recommend testing the alarm once a week using the test button to ensure it’s working properly.

14. What should I do if the alarm goes off?

If the alarm sounds:

  1. Stay calm
  2. Check for smoke or fire
  3. Evacuate the building if necessary
  4. Call emergency services

Do not ignore the alarm—early action can save lives.

15. How can I order and how fast is delivery?

You can order directly from our website, with fast delivery options available across
South Africa
. Protect your home with just a few clicks.

16. What happens during a power outage?

Since the alarm is battery-operated, it remains fully functional during power
outages—offering uninterrupted protection when you may need it most.
